following options?
Perhaps:
"Lou was born a little before coated lenses. After youthful follies
overseas, he wasted most of his life as a bureaucrat. He hopes to retire
soon, rusticate in Wyoming, raise bison, and assemble his Exaktas and his
Packard automobiles in one place."
Well, perhaps that's too irreverent. How about:
"Lou Mahoney is a Medical Director in the US Public Health Service. His
connection with Exaktas dates to that day during the Second Great War when
he dropped and broke his father's Night Exakta. He has survived greater
perils since, but he has always treated his Exaktas better."
